Abstract

This research raised concerns about the effect of the application drill method and Self-Reliance Achievement Learning to IPS at the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Rungan West District. Gunung Mas academic year 2013/2014? Quantitative approaches to the study design, the type of descriptive research in accordance with the purpose of describing the effect of the application method and Independence Drill Learning Achievement Learning to IPS at the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Rungan West District. Gunung Mas academic year 2013/2014. This study concludes that: 1. Regression analysis results influence Drill and Independence Learning Methods on the learning achievement of IPS students gain the following regression equation: Y = 42.145 + 0.892. X1 + 0.855. X ¬ 2. The equation shows that the level of learning achievement of students is determined by the Social Science Methods Drill and support students' independence in learning. 2. Methods Drill positive effect on the achievement of social studies eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Rungan Western academic year 2013/2014. The results of the regression analysis obtain tcount 4.144> t table (2.021) with a p-value = 0.000 is accepted at significance level of 5%. Drill Method contribution to the achievement of social studies is of 41.7%. 3. Independence Learning positive effect on the achievement of social studies eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Rungan Western academic year 2013/2014. The results of the regression analysis obtain tcount 3.213> t table (2.021) with a p-value = 0.003 is accepted at significance level of 5%. Contribution to the achievement of Independence Learning social studies is 31%.
